Past President Sarene Wallace was featured in the Ventura County Star on January 8, 2013...her cooking fame is spreading!

Mark Malloy, our intrepid administrator and MEGILLAH editor, was reelected on November 6th to the Board of Directors for the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks District. Don’t mention to him that he was the top vote getter, as his head barely fits in the front door as it is. Bonnie Shubb and Keith Elliott have been seen in the office a lot lately helping to keep the Temple’s accounting system operating smoothly after the departure of our parttime bookkeeper, Kaila Kaiden. Once again this month’s issue of the MEGILLAH is full of pictures, many taken by our resident photo genius, Allyson Williams, along with her very able sidekick, A.J. Williams. Kudos to Kim Honig for many hours spent repairing our damaged database of Yahrzeit date listings. Thanks also to those who received calls or eMails from her and supplied the correct dates.

Congratulations to TNA member Lynne West, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, for being named one of the Top 50 Women in Business by the Pacific Coast Business Times!
Thanks are in order to Bonnie Shubb who has been volunteering her time in the Temple office to help Kaila with the year-end file reorganization, as well as the changeover in accounting systems from Rakefet to our new and much richer and powerful system software, Chaverware.
To Annelies Regen for faithfully coming to the Temple every Friday morning to help Mark in the office. Her service to us is both a blessing to those she helps, and an example of how much opportunity there is to serve when we decide to selflessly offer all the gifts God has given us.

There was an excellent article about Rabbi Lisa Bock by Roxanne Estrada in the Camarillo Acorn on Friday-be sure to take a look at it at From_student_to_teacher.html.
Sharon Spielman recently received the San Buenaventura Section of the Society of Woman Engineers’ “Engineer of the Year “Award at the National Engineering Week dinner at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, held on February 23rd.
Not to be outdone, her husband Aaron Dvoretzky was recently named salesman of the year at his company.
And if that weren't enough, on March second, their daughter Rena placed second in the Ventura County Spelling Bee, which has earned her a spot as an alternate in the National Spelling Bee. Read about that in the Ventura County Star. Congrats to the whole family!

The above certificate was just received from the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, thanking both the Temple and Church for our support of the countywide Children's Services Auxiliary 2011 Holiday Program, which both congregations participated in. A round of thanks to Ann Burke who organized the collection effort and delivered the toys for distribution to needy children in Ventura County. Mazel Tov and many thanks to Ann and everybody that participated!
